Commissions

The commission prices below refer to illustrations and comic art created for personal use/free distribution, including samples to be used in project pitches.

For work that’s intended to be published and sold, or inquiries about professional employment, email me at rachel_ordway@yahoo.com to discuss pricing and terms based on the project.

General Terms

Payment is up front. Either the full amount up front, or half up front and the rest on completion. I accept Paypal, credit card, or mailed checks.

I reserve the right to charge extra based on the complexity of the project. I also reserve the right to charge extra for any significant revisions requested after the final stages. This is at my sole discretion and on a project-by-project basis.

If you decide to cancel the commission before completion, the reimbursement will be the full amount paid minus an amount equivalent to the value of the work that had been completed prior to cancellation.

No adults-only material (nudity, sexual content, gore, or drug use).

Non-human characters are fine, but I may charge extra for particularly complex or difficult designs.

My work is not to be used in NFTs or for training AI art programs.

Illustration Commissions

  • Sketch: $20
  • Black-and-white: $30
  • Digital color or graytone: $40
  • Traditional media color or graytone: $60

Samples of each type can be found on my Illustrations page.

The above prices refer to 1 character on a simple background.

  • + $15 for each additional character
  • + $30 for a more detailed/complex background.
  • Inquire about lettering or logos.

If you’d like the physical piece of art mailed to you:

  • + $10 expedited shipping (domestic US)
  • + $30 or more international

Comic Commissions & Lettering

Comic Lettering

For just lettering (on someone else’s art): $15/page, or less if the art already contains word balloons and/or sound effects.

Inquire about logos.

Scribble Comic Commissions

Not final pencils ready to be inked, but a quick, doodle-y, “it comes out however it comes out” type of thing. $35/page.

The above price refers to a traditional print comic page size and panel count. Inquire for other options, ex: comic strip format or webtoon format.
